This product is simply awesome! I purchased the boomBottle about a month ago and absolutely have no complaints. I take it every where I go! Must-Have for anyone who loves music!

Excellent and Lightweight
review by Mike
It seems like every product we buy for Scosche is great. This speaker is no exception. They claim it is a "wireless portable speaker" and that is exactly what it is. This thing is so much more than a bike speaker. After reading the first comment on the list it sounds like there are some issues using it on extreme mountain biking, but for me and my family it is great. We can all hear it as we cruise the neighborhood on our way to the park. Then we stick it on the blanket during lunch. Buy it. You'll love it.

Good sound if ambient noise isn't too high
review by Geoff
BoomBottle got it's first real-world bike test today on my 18 mile bike commute. Now, the reason I got this was for music on long solo rides on deserted roads so I wasn't too upset to find it doesn't really compete with the ambient noise when you're riding on the multi-use trail next to a freeway with lots of cars and trucks roaring past just yards away. It was better when I got onto a dedicated bike trail by the river, but if there's a headwind and/or my speed is getting upwards of 18mph, the wind in my ears tends to wipe out the sound too. It's marginally OK if the music is loud enough, but forget about a piano concerto in those conditions.

I had it mounted in the front water bottle cage, and it seemed like the sound is going straight out at my shins for the most part. I think I'm going to experiment with a little harness and possibly hang it off my back. When you get closer to it, or get it in a quiet place, it has pretty good tone balance. When there are other sounds competing, only the mid-tones make it through, the highs and lows get lost.
Oh, and besides music, I tried a podcast (Planet Money) and that worked pretty well, even under a headwind.
So, overall, it did fairly well in rough conditions, very well in quiet ones, and will be a good companion on empty roads at moderate speeds, or any long mountain climbs where speeds are below 10 mph.
I have yet to see if the battery lasts 10 hours but I've run it 6 straight so far.

I ordered this on the first day of availability and have not been disappointed. It's surprisingly light and durable - seems like it would survive a drop pretty well. Out of the box, I had no trouble connecting it with my iPhone 4S. The controls are pretty easy to learn and fairly intuitive. It has a good volume range and I was surprised at how loud it can get. The passive subwoofer does deliver some bass, but don't expect the amount of bass you'd get out of a larger speaker.

I took it out for a 30 mile ride the other day and it felt very secure in my water bottle cage. Bumps, railroad tracks, and divots in the road didn't seem to move it at all (I'm using the Bontrager RL bottle cage). The speaker was plenty loud to be heard clearly by the two buddies I was riding with. It will require you to ditch your second water bottle or stow it in a trunk bag, but that's easily overcome. Battery life also seems impressive. It came with a healthy charge, and I topped it off when I opened it per the instruction booklet. I've used it for approximately 3 hours and the battery indicator shows it's used it's about 1/4 depleted, so thus far battery life looks very good. Please note that Scosche does not include a wall charger, just a USB cable. You can charge it via a laptop or with an iPhone wall charger (what I did.) Overall, I highly recommend the boomBOTTLE. It is well made, has god battery life, and has many different uses. Pick one up!
Nice construction, sounds good, loud and not too heavy

I had been waiting for this for a couple of years. I saw people with the ihome bottle speaker for bikes and wanted one so bad, but they discontinued them by the time I even found out about them! This thing pops up and i bought it as soon as it was available. It has very nice construction, it sounds very good so far and it gets loud. I want to use it on my bke and its not too heavy as well. All in all i love it even more than I thought I would. I think it's actually a better product than the ihome product that I assume inspired this.

Was waiting for this product to hit the streets, and ordered it the first day it was in stock. It seems very durable and the design is eye catching. The strength of this speaker is that it doesn't sound distorted at high volumes, making it perfect for outdoor use. As long as it holds up to daily use, I'm sure I'll be satisfied with this speaker for a long time.
