Replacing Antenna Mast Only
- Unscrew existing antenna mast from base. If the mast cannot be removed see “Using the broken mast adapter” below.
- Find the adapter with a thread that fits the existing base. In some cases the mast can screw directly onto the existing base with no adapters. Note: The mast and studs should turn freely – do not force them. Once a suitable adapter has been found, screw the mast on and hand tighten.
Using the broken mast adapter: If the existing antenna cannot be removed
- Cut the existing mast 1-1/2" above the base.
- Secure the broken mast adapter to the cut off mast using the Allen wrench,
- Screw the replacement mast onto the broken mast adapter.
Installation Notes
- This antenna mast has been designed for vehicles with a removable antenna mast.
- Not all vehicles will require the Male-to-Male thread adapter.
- Some vehicles may require the installation assembly of a threaded extension stud into the Male-to-Male adapter before installing the mast onto the vehicle.
- The mast and adapters should turn freely - do not force them. Once a suitable adapter has been found, screw the mast on and hand tighten.
